MTA) has announced a 'two for one' Chick offer that enables customers
ordering new System 5 Qwik-Lok or Multi-Lok workholding units to upgrade
existing 'like for like' M series models to the latest specification
free of charge.
Users can take advantage of the promotion - which runs until the end
of December 2008, simply by returning their equivalent M series units
to 1st MTA to receive two new Chick System 5 models for the price of
one.
Incorporating accurate methods of jaw location, Chick's System 5 workholding
solutions are designed to maximise the productivity and profitability
of CNC machining centres. Qwik-Lok units feature a dual-station clamping
action that enables CNC machine productivity to be virtually doubled
and costly tool changeover times to be amortised. The units are suitable
for use singly or in groups and can be further enhanced by

Chick's conversion faceplates,
which allow setups for one or two large components to be quickly changed
to provide secure workholding for a number of smaller parts.
In parallel, Chick's three, four or six sided Multi-Loks offer the flexibility
to maximise the capabilities of modern horizontal machining equipment
and special purpose Multi-Loks enable single large components and multiple
smaller parts to be held securely by a single unit, eliminating the
need for multiple fixtures.
Completely sealed to avoid the ingress of swarf, System 5 units provide
accurate and reliable component location under all production conditions,
including high volume machining operations. Chick workholding units
are available in six sizes from 50 mm to 150 mm for both horizontal
and vertical machining centre applications.
"Our two for one offer underlines the versatility and cost-effectiveness
of Chick's System 5 workholding products," says 1st MTA's director,
Catherine Kelly. "By enabling customers to replace their existing
Multi-Lok and Qwik-Lok units on a 'new for old' basis, existing users
can take full advantage of the productivity benefits of the new system
while maintaining complete workholding equipment compatibility - all
at no additional cost."
