When launched, Bowers Metrology described its XT Xtreme range as a practical solution for companies needing to use bore gauges within shopfloor environments, such as in close proximity to machine tools. Mindful of the need for the accurate measurement of internal diameters with applications such as honing and deep hole drilling, Bowers is now able to supply XT extensions that will allow the gauges to reach more than 2m inside bores.

Bowers XT Xtreme bore gauges feature advanced new electronics with an IP65 rating, rendering them resistant to coolant, water and airborne particles. Amongst a list of useful features are: a clear digital display; metric/inch conversion; an RS 232 output and hardwearing extended travel carbide measuring anvils. Available to measure sizes up to 500mm, Bowers will also manufacture inexpensive one-off XT instruments to cater for other internal measuring applications, such as threads, grooves and splines.
