Lancashire-based machining and turning subcontractor Dawson Precision Components (DPC) has received ISO9001:2008 registration, certifying that it complies with the highest standards in quality management.
 
The certificate was awarded in February following an extensive investment programme and, according to the company, ‘a relentless drive to maintaining the very highest standards of quality and delivery’.

“Over the last three years we have invested £2million to ensure we have the very latest equipment and infrastructure to stay at the top of the pile.” explained managing director Simon Dawson. “Delivering quality is even more important during a recession – we want to provide the best possible service and come out as strong as possible on the other side. This certificate proves that commitment and we are dedicated to quality, flexibility and working in partnership with our customers.”

DPC’s services include expert metalworking, turning and milling to production and design consultancy, with its components appearing on everything from Formula 1 cars, jet fighters, healthcare products, spectrometers and even belly buttons.

One particular customer is performance engineering company Cosworth. The company has chosen DPC to support its own in-house capabilities in supplying engines to Formula 1 clients.

”In this sport we work to extremely tight deadlines and tolerances and we only select a small number of suppliers to work for us on aspects of major contracts, where they can meet our own exacting standards,” explained Richard Kiddle, component buyer at Cosworth. “We need to know that what comes through the door is delivered on time and to specification and Dawson has delivered quality on time, every time.”
