Specialist cutting tool manufacturer Applitec has now launched the new 2010 edition of its catalogue. Available in the UK through Floyd Automatic Tooling, the new catalogue for general machine shops will include information on new high quality ISO inserts, carbide saws and milling arbors to suit, plus a new generation of Cut-Line parting off tools.
The Applitec Cut-Line program launched in 2008 for users of sliding head turning machines has been enhanced with the introduction of the new ‘U’ Geometry inserts and increased parting off capacity up to 42mm diameter, which incorporates fixed head turning centres. The ‘U’ stands for Universal – a development that not only offers a simple solution for many applications, but also has price benefits by simplifying the range.
“Parting off problems can now be a thing of the past with the new Applitec Cut-Line range,” enthused Richard Floyd, managing director of Floyd Automatic Tooling. “The high quality Swiss manufactured range of tools has shown staggering results in the marketplace with enhanced tool life, rigidity and surface finish. The range is a must have for sliding head machine shops.”
The new generation parting off tool has a double ‘V’ clamping system that guarantees maximum rigidity for enhanced tool life and improved surface finishes. According to Floyd, the Cut-Line has already been proven in sliding head workshops to reduce tooling costs by up to 60%. Floyd is offering the new Cut-Line program with a promotional offer of 50% off all new holders until the end of March 2010.
