Peter Zierhut, one of the founding members of Haas Automation has been appointed as the new managing director of Haas Automation Europe.

Mr Zierhut has held a number of senior management positions during his 26 year tenure at the company’s head office, including director of the service, sales, marketing and IT departments.

At the end of 2009, Peter Hall announced to staff and employees of Haas Europe the end of his successful seven year run as the company’s managing director. He will return immediately to Haas Automation in Oxnard, California, where he will take up a business development role.

“Peter Zierhut brings a wealth of experience to HAE,” commented Mr Hall. ‘Thanks to all of my friends and colleagues in Zaventem, we have achieved a great deal in Europe and Peter is the right man to take the company forward. He is committed to building and supporting HAE’s network of Haas Factory Outlets and also to developing the Haas Technical Education Centre programme. I’m sure he will lead the company to even greater success.”

Shortly after arriving in Brussels, Mr Zierhut had this to say about Mr Hall’s achievements at HAE.

“Peter Hall has invested boundless energy in helping to make HAE what it is today. He has proved to be an inspired businessman with a unique vision and his dedication to the company and its goals has been exemplary. I wish him well with his new challenges.”

Mr Zierhut’s appointment comes as Haas Automation announces its next generation of CNC machine tools, developed over the past few years and designed to deliver high levels of value and productivity.

“While some machine tool companies have struggled to survive over the past two or three years, Haas Automation has invested in a new range of products,” concluded Mr Zierhut. “Our new machines incorporate everything we have learnt over the past 20 years and will help us to increase our market share in Europe. These are interesting times but we are better prepared than ever.”
