New from Siemens is the Sinumerik 828D CNC which features as standard Siemens’ ShopMill and ShopTurn interactive graphic assist programming operator interface.

The new CNC offers users high performance across operations and features a colour display, full keyboard, short stroke keys and a video-like interface.

Its robust design means it can cope with harsh industrial environments, as well as offering performance and ease of operation. Tony Bennison from Siemens Industry Automation & Drive Technologies (IA&DT) comments: “The new Sinumerik 828D CNC provides job shop owners and managers with distinct business advantages including ISO code programming, shopfloor communications, interactive animated elements, automatic measuring cycles and production status text messaging. We’re looking forward to launching it at MACH 2010 as we believe it offers a host of measurable benefits for manufacturers.”

On the stand, the new CNC will be demonstrated on machines built and supplied by XYZ Machine Tools, and elsewhere on the Dugard and Hardinge stands.

In addition, Siemens will be demonstrating its 5-axis technology with the Sinumerik 840D solution line on a DMG DMU50evo linear machine. Siemens PLM software will also show the capability of its NX software with advanced functionality.
