Xisis has announced that it has become the UK’s exclusive supplier of directMILL – claimed by the company to be the first CAM solution to be compatible with all major CAD formats.

The evolution of directMILL, pioneered by Joakim Möller at 5X CNC Technology AB, is a culmination of 25 years’ ongoing development with over 600 customers throughout the world. Despite a wealth of advanced 4- and 5-axis (indexing and simultaneous) machining features, directMILL is said to be user friendly and intuitive facilitating the creating of 5-axis toolpaths in under five minutes, the developer boldly claims.

Offering all the features expected from a high quality CAM system, directMILL provides multi-axis cycles, user defined and automatic stock models and toolpath simulation (with material removal). The advanced 4- and 5-axis features allow users to significantly reduce set-up times, improve tool life and surface finish and reduce machining times.

The directMILL Professional package, available for £9,995 excluding VAT, provides users with the following features: easy to use 5-axis CAD/CAM tools; 2.5-, 3-, 4- and 5-axis machining cycles (indexing and simultaneous); material removal simulation (including 5-axis); machine simulation (including 5-axis); post-processors (including 5-axis); one day CAD training; three day CAM training; and an annual support and maintenance package.
