Supplying products from German manufacturers J G Dahmen and Berkenhoff, Malvern-based Toolmaker Supplies continues to expand its range of wire EDM consumables and wear parts. By reinvesting in stock providing a quick and reliable response, the company has developed an extensive customer base across the UK and Europe.

For example the coated Megacut Plus gamma phase high performance wire offers high profitability, quality and reliability, whilst Megacut Pro, an uncoated brass wire, is designed to provide cost-effective performance in all basic applications. In different ways, each can help tool and mould makers improve production process efficiency and profitability.

To fulfil its promise of delivering maximum profitability, Megacut Plus makes high cutting rates, precision and excellent surface finish quality a reality. The wire improves productivity by performing at speeds up to 15% faster than pure brass wire and, owing to its high process stability, reduces wire consumption. It allows wire run off speed to be slowed significantly – the amount depending on the application and number of cuts – without compromising surface quality or precision. Getting more cutting capability from a single spool also saves on wire costs.

These performance results are achievable under various working circumstances even when flushing conditions may be poor. Moreover, the high resistance of Megacut Plus to breakage ensures good process stability.

Daco Cut brass wire also provides high cutting reliability. Usable with any Japanese EDM machine, it is a cost-effective alternative in cutting applications for which pure brass wire is sufficient. To complement the product range, large stocks of filters and Rohm and Haas Ion Exchange Resins are held for immediate despatch.

The expansion of the business has been rapid but controlled and according to the company, the possibility of employing more staff and the acquisition of additional premises is likely to take place during the forthcoming year.
