MACH 2024 saw the introduction of a host of new technologies from Starrag that had not been seen before in the UK, leading to an unprecedented level of enquiries.
Starrag will be presenting its latest innovations from across the company’s diverse portfolio of high-performance solution-driven machine tools at this year’s MACH show at the NEC.
‘Push Your Productivity’ was Starrag’s theme for this year’s Tech Days – a manufacturing extravaganza held at the company’s headquarters in Switzerland.
Building on the successes of the existing Heckert H50/H60 and heavier duty H55/H65/H75 4-axis machines designed for heavy machining, the recent EMO Hannover show saw Starrag unveil two world premieres – the Heckert H85 and H95 models – with pallet sizes of 800 and 1,000mm respectively.
At EMO, Starrag says it is set to revolutionise titanium machining performances with its new ultra-rigid and robust STC 1250 HD horizontal machining centre, the first machine in its large-capacity class with hydrostatic guideways for zero friction/non-stick/slip movements.
Denmark-based Haco A/S has invested in two large-capacity Droop+Rein portal-type machining centres from Starrag to meet the rising demand for components for larger offshore wind power turbines having outputs of up to 16MW.
Tripartite collaboration between a project enabler/integrator, a machine tool supplier and a toolholding specialist is continually pushing the boundaries of high-performance machining and increasingly reducing machining lead-times and production costs for a major aerospace company.
Starrag has announced the second – and larger capacity – member of its new Heckert range with the launch of the Heckert T55 5-axis horizontal machining centre for the multi-tasking and complete machining of workpieces weighing up to 700kg.
